Born and raised in Kansas, Brian Harvey, DO, provides oversite of the Sports Medicine care for the student-athletes at Leavenworth High School and works hand-in-hand with athletic trainer Ron Wollenhaupt to provide comprehensive care for the Pioneers.
As a pediatric sports medicine physician, Dr. Harvey specializes in the growing athlete. He is board certified in general pediatrics and has an additional year of subspecialty training and board certification in sports medicine. He provides comprehensive evaluations for a wide range of injuries and conditions that affect athletes, from all sports.
Dr. Harvey earned his undergraduate degree from Bethany College and completed his education at the medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Harvey served his residency at Children’s Mercy and received his Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
His professional interests include research around the over-head athlete, tennis medicine and concussion care.
Outside of treating student-athletes and helping them return to sport, Dr. Harvey loves to spend time with his wife, Andrea, and their two boys, Parker and Kian.
