The Pioneers earned their first 6A State Consideration time of the season Friday night at the double duel meet. Hope Hanlen, Alissa McCarter, Maya Brothers, and Elizabeth Bert cut 6 seconds from their previous season best time to earn a 6A State Consideration time by four seconds (4:16.16) and also win the 400 Freestyle Relay. Bert and Brothers also took first in both of their individual events. Bert won the 100 Butterfly (personal best time) and the 200 Freestyle. Brothers won the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle with personal best times in both events. Overall, the Pioneers had 14 personal best times. Following Brothers’ win in the 200 Individual Medley, teammates Alissa McCarter and Hope Hanlen took 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Hanlen cut 6 seconds from her best time from last season in the IM.

In the 200 Medley Relay, McCarter, Bert, Brothers, and Hanlen cut 2 seconds from their best time this season and took 2nd in the event in 2:13.63. The team is a second and half off a 6A State consideration time in the event, their next goal. McCarter took 4th in the 100 Freestyle, with teammate Hope Hanlen not far behind, taking 6th in the event. The 200 Freestyle Relay (Sarah Wagner, Virginia Perry, Maya Halle, Gabby Victor) took 4th in the event.
