Today marked the first ever United Kansas Conference (UKC) swim meet. The Pioneers (92pts) finished in 2nd place behind the Lions of Lansing High School (110pts). Overall, the Pioneers posted four 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in a total of 11 different events.
Leading the way for the Pioneers was Weston Marshall and Kato Fischer. Weston placed 1st in the 100 Butterfly, 2nd individually in the 200 IM. Both of Weston’s individual events were 6A state qualifying times (200 IM and 100 Butterfly). Kato Fischer took 1st in the 100 breaststroke (6A State qualifying time) and 100 Freestyle (18 hundredths of 6A State qualifying time). Curtis Springer took 2nd and 3rd in his individual events, 500 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, respectively. Springer earned a 6A State qualifying time in the Butterfly and improved on his consideration time in the 500. Jeb Marshall took 2 3rd place finishes to earn a trip to the podium in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly. Connor Engen took 3rd in the 100 Breastroke, earning a best time by 2 seconds. Jack Schilling took 3rd in the 200 Freestyle and 4th in the 100 Backstroke for the Pioneers.

The team placed top 3 in all relay events on the night. The Pioneers took 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, decreasing their 6A State qualifying time to a 1:43.83. Weston Marshall, Kato Fischer, Curtis Springer, and Jack Schilling claimed the first win of the night in the relay. In the last event of the night, the Pioneer 400 Freestyle Relay took 2nd, also decreasing their 6A State qualifying time by 3 seconds. Weston Marshall, Curtis Springer, Jack Schilling, and Kato Fischer represented the team in the 400 Relay as well. Nick Walker, Connor Engen, Antonio Lemus, and Angel Morgan took 3rd in the 200 Freestyle Relay for the team.
